CHAPTER 1:  DISCOVERING GOD

I was alone, and scared. Only nineteen, so young.  So afraid.

This can’t be true! Oh God! Oh God! NO! NO!  Please God, NO! Please don’t let me be pregnant!  Oh my God! Is this really happening to me? Oh God, please, please don’t let this be happening to me! I can’t do this!

I’d been living on my own since I was seventeen years old, almost eighteen. Just before graduating from high school, I’d registered for college, had a job at an apartment community as a leasing agent. One of the benefits was a free apartment which I was ecstatic about. Being out on my own, living the life of a full fledged adult, what wonderful freedom!

Should I tell him I'm pregnant? What would he say?  Would he want to get married? Do I want to marry him?  No! I don't want to marry him! I really don't! This is not what I want! I was so frightened, and so alone, longing for the days of being a young girl without a care in the world when my friends and I would spend hours sky gazing.
